• A Message from Dr. Chris Lowder, Superintendent  12/13/2016

Superintendent Lowder Cabarrus County Schools has received its second Investing in Innovation – i3 – grant from the U.S. Department of Education. Our school system’s proposal for EMPOWER: Expanding Magnet Program Options, Widening Educational Reach is among 15 selected from a field of nearly 400.

CCS will receive $3 million to implement EMPOWER, which will address and promote diversity by establishing a continuum of high-quality K-12 magnet programs intentionally placed in high-need areas. We also have secured the required private funding and are excited to begin implementation.

With winter approaching, our thoughts turn to the possibility of inclement weather. Be sure to review our Inclement Weather information and procedures before winter weather hits. You can find it all here.

Earlier this month, we named Crystal Hall from Mount Pleasant Elementary School our Teacher Assistant of the Year. She has served as both a teacher assistant and substitute in Cabarrus County Schools since 2010.

    Sincerely,

    Chris
