Mrs. Nicole Rice
Welcome Eighth Grade Students and Parents!
I began my career in 2011 after graduating from the University of Georgia where I majored in Secondary English Education. Since then I have taught grades 6-8, and I have earned both a gifted endorsement and a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction from Michigan State University. Over the years, I have honed a teaching philosophy that is rooted in student inquiry and authentic learning experiences. It is my firm belief that engaging students with meaningful opportunities to read, write, think, and speak not only piques their interest, but also deepens their understanding and enhances their skills. As such, students in my class can expect to engage with, create, and discuss texts that resonate far beyond the classroom walls.
I am looking foward to reading, writing, and learning with you this school year. Please plan to check my Canvas page regularly for updates about class assignments and important dates.
