This course is designed to be the equivalent of an introductory college course in environmental science. The course topics include Earth Systems and Resources, The Living World, Population, Land and Water Use, Energy Resources and Consumption, Pollution, and Global Change. Intensive study in these areas provides a solid foundation in preparation for the AP environmental science exam. This course is based upon scientific principles and analysis from a variety of scientific fields and approaches, and includes a laboratory and field investigation component. Although much of the content will be presented during class, students will be expected and required to cover additional materials on their time.Your success in this class is very dependent on the effort you put into the course. You should expect to have at least 45-60 minutes of homework a night in this class. It is really important that you budget your time and plan ahead (especially those of you in more than one AP course). Putting off assignments until the last minute will not only result in a lot of stress but you also run the risk of not being able to turn in your best work!I am here to help you be successful! Please be an advocate for your own education and communicate with me if you are struggling with anything in the course. I can't help you if I don't know you need help.
