• A Message from Dr. Chris Lowder, Superintendent  04/12/2016

    Superintendent Lowder Greetings!

We are heading into the final stretch of the school year and soon will be busy with end-of-year activities and testing. Please remember that our schools need proctors to help with end-of-grade and end-of-course testing. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact one of our schools directly.

I want to offer my congratulations to our Teacher of the Year finalists:
Astrid Francis – W.M. Irvin Elementary School
Tina Platek – Jay M. Robinson High School
Stephen Platt – J.N. Fries Magnet School
Chase Tinnel – Hickory Ridge Middle School
Lori Treiber – Central Cabarrus High School

We will announce the district Teacher of the Year during a celebration next month.

The public is invited to the Groundbreaking Celebration for the new Royal Oaks Elementary School on Saturday, April 16th from 5 to 7 p.m. The celebration will include a student-led rockets display, an ice cream truck and a dance party in the gym.

In closing, I would like to thank you for making my first year as superintendent memorable. I have visited our schools and sat in on engaging classroom activities and have participated in many exciting school events. I have watched our student athletes triumph and have celebrated in the stands with hundreds of other cheering fans. And, sadly, I have grieved the losses of far-too many students and staff members.

I am proud of all that our district has accomplished this year, and I am looking forward to even bigger and better achievements next year.

Let’s all stay focused over these next few weeks and finish the school year strong.

    Sincerely,

    Chris
    Christopher Lowder, Ed.D.
