Welcome to the 2020-2021 School Year!!  As we start the year off in full-remote learning, we are geared up for exciting things to come.  Our students, staff and families will be challenged in so many new and invigorating ways, there is nothing else to do but grow and excel.  We will travel this path together throughout the year.  I am so proud of the hard work and dedication of our Cox Mill community.

I look forward to making history with you.  Thank you for being present, being focused and being ready!!  We've got this, Comets!!

    Details about me:

This past January, I celebrated 10 years as Principal at CMES!  I am so proud of the accomplishments we have had.  Cox Mill is an amazing community to serve.  I am very thankful for the work of the staff, students and family.

I have been an administrator in Cabarrus County for 19 years.  I started the  administrative portion of my career as the Asst. Principal at W.R. Odell in 2001.  I moved to R. Brown McAllister as Asst. Principal in 2002.  I served R. Brown for 7 1/2 years as Asst. Principal and Principal, until 2010 when I transferred to Cox Mill Elementary as Principal.

Prior to administration, I was an elementary school teacher in Rowan County from 1992-2001.  I taught various grade levels (K, 3, 4, and 5) and languages.  During the 1992-1993 school year, I served three schools as a Spanish teacher for elementary school.  I have spent my career in the elementary school and could not imagine a better life.  I love the time spent with children, families and educators as we inspire the children to become anything they can imagine.

On a personal note, my husband, Aaron, and I live in Rowan County with our two children, Ainsley and Anderson, three dogs and two fish.  Our daily lives are full with school, scouts (Boy, Girl, Venture) and church committees. Ainsley is currently studying education (Middle School Math) at NC State University and Anderson will be a senior at Carson High school.
