    Scholarships are ongoing. It is important to be mindful of deadlines.Scholarships are monetary awards that help students fund their post secondary education. Scholarships can be awarded for a variety of criteria including:
    • Merit (academic achievement, GPA, class rank, test scores etc.)
    • Need (family financial situation)
    • Talent (athletic ability, artistic talent, etc.)
    • Affiliation (member of ABC Church, Child of Rotary Club etc.)
    • Condition (diabetic, left handed, cancer survivor, child of veteran)

    • create an account on or these are databases where you can enter in your information and they will filter the opportunities that you qualify for and e mail them to you.

    NCCU Cheatham White Scholarship - Need at least a 4.0 to apply.  It is a full ride scholarship.  Please use this link to apply:
    Coca Cola Scholars Foundation Scholarship - $20,000 (150 will be awarded) - Must have a 3.0 GPA.  Deadline is October 31st.  For more information and to apply, copy and paste the following link :
    John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Essay Contest for High School Students $100-$10,000 - Applicant must write a 1000 word essay demonstrating an understanding of political courage. Deadline is January 14th.  Click on the link for more information.
    DAR GOOD CITIZENS SCHOLARSHIP- awards from $250-$5,000.  See link below.

    Catawba College Teaching Scholarships:

    West Teaching Scholarship - up to $12,000 for students in the education field.  Must have a GPA of at least 3.5 and must submit SAT (1170) or ACT (24) scores, letter of recommendation and essay response.

    Opportunities in Education Scholarships - up to $10,000 for students interested in the field of education.  Eligibility for these scholarships requires a GPA of 3.0 and proof of commitment, work ethic and academic promise in a variety of ways.

    Commit to Teacher Education Scholarship- $2,000 per year, with an increase to $4,000 per year once successfully accepted in the Teacher Education program.  You must major or minor in Education.
