• Cabarrus County Elementary Schools use a Standards Based Grading Systems. Below is a general rubric to show what a 1, 2, 3, or 4 on a report card would mean.  Please keep in mind that most students will be 2's throughout the year because standards on the report card are end of the year standards. Most standards are not fully taught or mastered until the end of the year.  



    -Student did not complete of did not attept to answer

    -Student shows many inconsistencies in understanding

    -Student has answered inaccurately


    -Student attempted, but answer is incomplete

    -Student show some inconsistencies in understanding

    -Student is showing progress towards mastery

    -Student shows some knowledge about  concept being tested


    -Student has complete answer that addresses all parts beging assessed

    -Student shows consist understanding with very few inaccuracies

    -Student has mastered required skill with consistenct accuracy

    -Students shows thorough knowledge of the skill being assessed


    -Student has completed all parts being assessed in a manner that exceeds grade level expectations for mastery
