North Carolina Battle of the Books: Pull For Your Team
North Carolina's Elementary Battle of the Books is an academic competition which encourages reading and exposes fourth and fifth graders to a variety of literary genres. The guidelines of the North Carolina School Library Media Association sponsored program specifies that each elementary school's team consists of no more than 12 fourth and fifth graders.
At the 2016-17 county-wide competition our Cox Mill Elementary EBoB team placed 1st out of 18 teams at the Cabarrus County Elementary Competition!  We couldn't be more proud of their hard work and dedication!  Way to go Comets!!!
In media classes just before summer break, rising fourth and fifth graders will receive an EBoB 2017-18 bookmark and hear about the books.  In addition, rising 6th graders will receive a MBoB bookmark.  We have multiple copies of most of the EBoB titles for student check-out in our media center.  The books are also available at the Cabarrus County Public Library branches and at local bookstores.
