    Weekly News:

    1. If you have not already completed the Family Life Permission Form please read:  The fourth grade teachers and administration will be administering Family Life Curriculum on May 27th.  This is approved curriculum for Cabarrus County Schools that requires parent permission to attend.  If you would like specifics on the material being covered, you can visit this link to the CCS district page:

Please complete THIS LINK to let your child’s homeroom teacher know your preference about your child’s participation.  The link MUST be completed by 3PM on May 23, 2022 for your child to attend class.

    1. Check out your child’s Math Madness packet again this weekend.  They should have pages 1-22 complete.  They are inputting their answers into Canvas to see their progress.  If you would like them to practice at home, please have them jump to page 35 and they can do these through page 55.  The other pages are part of our class time for the month of May.
    2. Students have been working hard for our June Jam celebration days after EOG testing is complete.  They were given 25 tickets and will be able to spend them on fun activities and snacks.  You will see in Dojo if your child is losing these tickets for behavior choices.
    3. It’s getting HOT OUTSIDE!  Please be sure your child is wearing cool clothing that is school appropriate.  There are guidelines in the agenda for appropriate clothing.

Here’s What We Will Be Learning This Week:

English Language Arts:   We will review text structure and theme.  We will also complete a "Surgery" activity to review all fiction and nonfiction reading skills.  Students will have a homework reading selection on Monday and Tuesday.

Writing- We will continue with our Animal Adaptations informative writing.

Homework- Students will only have reading  homework on Monday and Tuesday.

We have completed all 9 Math Units for 4th grade!!  From now until EOGs, we will be reviewing.  We will focus on specific skills and practice with EOG-type questions.

Students will have a homework packet this week and be expected to complete the assigned Freckle lesson.  I will also be giving prizes for the number of Freckle coins they are earning each week. This Freckle work has taken the place of iReady for 3 weeks now.  Students who are not completing this work are losing Dojos and are having to complete it at school as make-up work.

    Social Studies:

We will complete out Economy Unit next week and move into our Energy Unit for Science.  Students will be asked to bring in a ball one day for an activity.  We will write it in the agenda so they know which day their class will need it.
