Home of the Dragons
Thursday is Rock Your Socks for Downs Syndrome Day. Join people all over the world and rock your most colorful, crazy printed, maybe even mismatched socks - just as long as you are making a statement to celebrate World Syndrome Day! Socks may be different in pattern or color, but they are still beautiful and wonderful! Wearing these socks reminds us to celebrate the things that make us each unique!
We need your help to make the 2018-2019 End of Grade Tests go smoothly. If you are able to help us by volunteering to proctor, please complete our WR Odell Proctor Form. We would like to thank you in advance for your support and offering your time to serve as a proctor here at WR Odell Elementary School!
End of Grade tests are scheduled for May 31 - June 7. We will conduct a required proctor training each day of testing beginning at 7:10am in the Media Center. You will receive your assignment at that time. For those who can help on multiple days, you will only need to attend 1 day of proctor training.

5th Grade AIG Make A Difference Project
Our 5th grade AIG students organized a school-wide fundraiser to support the organization Water for South Sudan, which drills wells and improves living conditions for the people of South Sudan. Their fundraising goal was $1,700, but they went way beyond that! They raised a total of $3,190. Way to go Dragons! That is amazing! The winner of the Change for Change donation box challenge was Mrs. Marshall's 3rd grade class. They raised $320.44. They won an ice cream party and extra recess. So many lives will be changed by this donation. Many people in South Sudan will have a better life and clean, safe drinking water all because of our dragons! Thank you for your generosity!
Congratulations to our robotics teams. Both attended the North Carolina State Championship. The Skele-Cats came in 5th place in robot skills and won the "Think" award for effective programming. The Masterbolts came in 8th place in robot skills and won the "Amaze" award for their amazing, well-rounded, top performing robot. We are so proud of both our robotics teams.
