My name is Laura B. Bryant, and I am a public health nurse with Cabarrus Health Alliance (CHA). I am the school nurse here at MPES where the students and staff call me "Nurse Laura". I am a Mt. Pleasant Tiger at heart, graduating from MPHS in 1982. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from UNCC in 1986 and my National Certification for School Nurses in 2008.
I live with my husband, Phil and Yorkshire Terrier, Jackson, here in Mt. Pleasant. Phil and I have a wonderful son, Nathan, who is a lieutenant with Concord City Fire Department, and a beautiful daughter-in-law, Victoria, who is employed in the marketing business. I love spending time with my family and friends, going to the beach, and reading.

New definition of School Nursing released by the National Association of School Nurses Board of Directors June 2016
"School nursing, a specialized practice of public health nursing, protects and promotes student health, facilitates normal development, and advances academic success. School nurses, grounded in ethical and evidence-based practice, are the leaders that bridge health care and education, provide care coordination, advocate for quality student-centered care, and collaborate to design systems that allow individuals and communities to develop their full potentials."
