Juniors and Seniors are invited to become members of the Hickory Ridge High School National Honor Society if they have a 4.25 GPA , have a clean discipline record, and exhibit qualities of scholarship, service, leadership, and character. Membership in the National Honor Society is an honor and a responsibility. Students will be expected to attend monthly meetings and participate in service projects. We are very proud of our students. Seniors: Applications for the NHS Scholarship are open. Deadline is December 1st at 5pm. NHS will award 600 scholarships nationwide.
To remain a member of NHS, students should:1. Maintain a GPA of 4.25 or higher2. Keep a clean discipline record3. Attend monthly meetings4. Participate in the 5 service projects throughout the year5. Make sure not to include personal information other than your name. Wish them well and make it colorful without glitter please.For the Salvation Army Angel Tree, use this link to find a local listing and purchase a gift online to be sent directly to the family. We will have a drop off December 11th in the front circle from 11-12 to coincide with Beta Club Drop off.FebruaryService Project: This month, we will be collecting items for CVAN. CVAN in Cabarrus county is able to provide shelter for battered women and children. We will be collecting items that will go straight to these individuals.Use the Sign Up Genius to select your item.Projects will be due March 5th. If attending school, projects can be dropped off in room 413. We will have a drop off February 26th and March 5th in the front circle from 11-12.April & Make upPlease remember, you need to have completed 5 total projects for the year. Students who are behind may double up this month as a make up project. Seniors will be able to purchase stoles in May for graduation. You must have completed all 5 projects to purchase a stole. More information to come.Service Project: Donate a $5 gift card to a coffe shop or food restaurant that will go to First Responders or Teachers in honor of Teacher Appreciation week and First Responder Appreciation week in May. If making up a project, you will need 2 gift cards.Projects will be due May 7th. If attending school, projects can be dropped off in room 413. We will have a drop off April 30th and May 7th in the front circle from 11-12.Graduation 2021Seniors who have completed enough service projects to graduate as a NHS member in good standing should have an email (school email) with Stole and Graduation Info.
