I am pleased to be the Instructional Technology Facilitator for the Cabarrus Kannapolis Early College High School, the Cabarrus Early College of Technology and the Opportunity School. I am a Concord native, and attended Beverly Hills Elementary School, Concord Middle School and graduated from Concord High School way back in 1981. I earned my Bachelor's degrees and Master's degree from UNC-Charlotte.
Prior to becoming a teacher, I worked in a compensatory education program, which is what led me to seek earning my teaching credentials. I began my teaching career at Beverly Hills Elementary in 1990. When I started, there were several teachers still at the school that had taught me as a child. It was a great honor to call them colleagues, but I was never able to call them by their first names! I spent 9 years as a classroom teacher (grades 1, 2 and 3), and this is my 20th year as an ITF. I truly enjoy supporting teachers and students and helping to guide them through the uses of instructional technology.
I am looking forward to a fantastic year!
