Mrs. Amanda Parnell

Hey everyone! During our school closing, I will be working closely with your child via CANVAS. I know education looks a little different right now but we will work through these "bumps in the road" together as we navigate these next several weeks.

Please note the following from the AIG Department:

The CCS AIG Department is offering optional enrichment lessons and activities through this AIG at HOME learning site.  These activities will provide approximately 1 hour of enrichment for your child each week.  Please ensure that your child has completed his or her classroom teacher’s CORE instruction lessons before beginning this optional enrichment.

I have several links below that will be helpful for your student. Please note that once your child enrolls in a CANVAS course, they no longer need to click on the link below, they can simply access it through their Canvas page in Clever.
3rd grade AIG Canvas Course - Login through Clever and click on the Canvas button, you should see your AIG consult class as an option.
4th grade AIG Canvas Course - Login through Clever and click on the Canvas button, you should see your AIG consult class as an option.
5th grade AIG Canvas Course - Login through Clever and click on the Canvas button, you should see your AIG consult class as an option.
In addition to Canvas, students K-5 can use the CCS Home and Family Enrichment Resources website for engaging opportunities beyond the classroom.
I hope you enjoy the resources offered and if you need anything, don't hesitate to reach out to me via e-mail at Amanda.Parnell@cabarrus.k12.nc.us
Have a wonderful time learning and growing your brain at home! I miss you and I'll see you soon!
Love, Mrs. Parnell
Hey all! I'm the AIG teacher at Bethel Elementary School and assist Mrs. Arrington on Mondays at Harrisburg Elementary School. I have previously taught fourth and fifth grade for 5 years. I am excited to be working with the AIG students in grades K-5!!
I went to Appalachian State University (go Mountaineers!) for my Elementary Education degree. I completed my AIG Certificate at UNC Charlotte.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have, I love e-mail because I can check it at home so I'm pretty quick to respond.

Units of Study

  • When your child is in AIG class, know that they will receive a paper that will be for you to sign each week. On the paper, you will be told what activity we are doing at the time and any comments I may have for you then a parents initials section. As a teacher, I know that your child comes home and typically says "I don't know" when you ask them what they did; well, with this little paper, we can be sure you know what's going on and it'll give you a great window to ask for more details. Plus, at the top you will see when their class times are each week.
