A Message from Chris Myers, Principal
Welcome Trojan Nation to the spring semester of the 2021-2022 school year. It goes without saying that going back to March of 2020, all of us: students, staff members, and parents alike have been challenged. I can’t emphasize enough how excited we are to have successfully “navigated” through an uninterrupted first semester. Once again, the hallways are filled with the sound of students, classrooms that of teaching, the auditorium and band room the sound of music, and the athletic fields the sound of student-athletes. In other words, the sound of what the high school experience should be like for our students here and everywhere! To that end, the Northwest Cabarrus High School staff cannot say thank you enough for your flexibility, support, and trust, as everyone has worked to return to normalcy.
Moving forward, we are excited about the things learned and opportunities for growth in the second semester of the year. As your principal, my biggest advice for all students would be to stay connected, seek help, and ask questions. Your best resource is your teachers, so be sure to communicate with them if you have any specific learning needs. Additionally, as most of you are aware, our Student Services team at NCHS is exceptional, and is always looking for ways to help make your time at NCHS the best it can be. Parents, please “follow” your student’s grades in Parent Portal, engage them in daily conversations about their activities on any given day, and monitor their social media activity. Additionally, please consider joining our PTSA.
In closing, I have always said that NCHS has something academically, artistically, and athletically for every one of our students. Granted, it still looks not quite “normal”; however, we have great students, staff, and the community that are making the best of every opportunity! In the meantime, let us know what we can do to help, spend time with your families and those you care about, take time for yourself, and know that Trojan Nation is here for you! Thank you for all that you do to continue the rich tradition of excellence that is Northwest. Go Trojans!
