IB World School / Primary Years Programme

End of Semester Car Rider Procedure Update

  • While changes have been implemented in the car rider line to increase the efficiency in drop off and pick up, we still have an enourmous volume of traffic each day that comes through our car rider line.

Please review the entire handout that went home on Wednesday, January 16th which contains more clarification as well as reminders for the am and pm drop off and pick up processes.

Thank you for your continued patience as we continue to work to improve the car rider procedures.

Change for Change! A Global Service Project

  • WHES Students Participate in Global Service Project
Our goal is to raise $10,000 to build a clean water well in another country!

We will be participating with a non-profit organization called Charity Water.

How? During the weeks of Jan. 14-18 and Mar. 11-15, students can bring in spare change to their classroom teachers.
While not required, this is a chance for all our students to be a part of an international service project!

You can make donations directly to Charity Water at the following website!
**please note the specific address below goes to our WHES "Wildcats for Water" Charity Water link**

Focus School

  • Our school qualifies again this year for school-wide Title I Funding and services. Our Title I plan allows us to employ tutors that help serve students in grades K-5. These tutors will be assisting with Direct Instruction, Guided Reading, and interventions. Our Title I Funds are also used to employ three lead teachers, three character coaches, three interventionists, and to provide staff development training, and sponsor parent involvement activities. In addition, as a parent of a student in a Title I school, you may request information regarding the professional qualifications of your child's teacher. We are recognized as a focus school and are working to close the achievement gap among student subgroups.

Mission Statement

  • Weddington Hills Elementary will value, teach, and empower each learner in a collaborative culture of educational excellence and respect in order to produce globally competitive lifelong learners who can be successful anywhere in the world.

Vision Statement

  • *To produce globally competitive lifelong learners through rigorous and relevant curriculum taught by highly prepared visionary leaders who recognize the importance of engaging a diverse body of learners.
*To provide 21st Century resources through responsible and efficient use of funding.
*To ensure success for all students in safe, inviting, and healthy learning communities by building upon a foundation of stakeholder support and caring/respectful relationships.
