A Message from Billy Davis, Principal

    Dear Red Hawk families,

I hope everyone has had time to relax and have some fun this summer.  Welcome to the 2022-23 school year! We are incredibly excited to have ALL our students back for an exciting year.  We welcome our returning and new families to the Patriots community.

Our administrative, custodial, teachers, and front office staff have been working hard during the summer months to prepare for another amazing school year.  This year we will “Do Whatever it Takes”.  We will continue use Best Practices in: Reader’s Workshop, Launch Explore Discuss, 5E instructional Model in Science, Hands on Activities, Collaboration with peers, and PBL’s.  Your child(ren) and our “kids” are why we work hard to give them a quality education while remaining safe at Patriots.  We will continue with our high expectations with rigorous and engaging lessons and assignments.

I encourage everyone to attend Open House on August 25th from 5:00 – 7:00 PM and Curriculum Night on September 13th (K-2) and/or September 14th (3-5) from 6:00 – 7:30 PM on both nights to learn about the great things happening in your child’s classroom.

Patriots staff take great pride in creating an educational atmosphere that educates the whole child.  Our highly qualified staff and support personnel are committed to help each individual student be their best at Patriots. There will continue to be an emphasis on social/emotional learning through counselor lessons and the Positivity Project program.  We believe a strong partnership with a child’s family will make a huge difference in a child’s education. As partners, we share in the responsibility of your children’s successes and each staff member will do their best to help your child.  We highly value school and home communication at Patriots.  It is vital and plays an integral role in each student’s success.  We encourage you to contact us when the need arises.  I will send weekly communication about the upcoming week’s events.  Your child’s teacher will communicate weekly via a newsletter.  Parent involvement plays a vital role in your child’s success.  You can support your child’s academic success by:

    • Making attendance a priority by limiting tardiness and absences
    • Communicate often with your child’s homeroom teacher
    • Read with your child daily
    • Limit television, social media, and gaming; encourage outdoor play
    • Talk with your child about what is happening during school daily

There are numerous ways you can help in your child’s education at Patriots:

    • Join the PTO: The PTO is a huge supporter of our students, teachers, and staff
    • Chaperone Field Trips: your child’s homeroom teacher will reach out with opportunities.
    • Become a homeroom parent to help organize support for your child’s class
    • Volunteer for Field Day and/or the Red Hawk Run
    • Volunteer in teacher’s classrooms

We look forward to a very positive and productive year together!  We extend a special, yearlong invitation to our families to join us at school activities and events whenever possible.  We value your involvement and support in your child’s education.

    With Red Hawk Pride,

    Billy Davis
