Hello! My Name is Mr. Porter and I am excited to be back in STEM! I taught in Avery County High School STEM Academy a long time ago. Please do not hate me for this but I graduated from Concord High. My Teaching experience began in Avery County (Vikings)! Prior to joining the Central Cabarrus Viking family, I taught at Concord. I am certified to teach five different CTE areas but Engineering Design is what I love to do. I graduated from Appalachian State University with a degree in Industrial Technology/Construction. Prior to teaching I worked for a custom home builder in The High Country of North Carolina. I do have practical "real world" experience and I bring that knowledge to class each day.  I expect students to work hard and have fun while using your brains and hands to solve problems.
