Ms. Lina Cortes
Welcome to Spanish DLI with Ms. Cortes. Here you will find classroom documents and other helpful links about the Dual Language immersion program. I am really excited to share this amazing year with the wonderful WHES school community.
I come from a beautiful country called Colombia. I'm excited to start a new school year as the Second grade DLI teacher. I have 11 years of experience teaching Spanish and EFL to all grade levels in Elementary. I have worked as a World Language teacher at Cabarrus County Schools through Participate for 2 years and as a Dual Language Immersion teacher for 2 years as well. I have a strong passion for teaching and learning about other cultures and languages, which is why I decided to move to the US. I also enjoy sharing my culture and background with my students as well as participating in diverse cross-cultural experiences that allow me to guide them through the understanding and appreciation of different cultures and perspectives.
My educational background includes a B.Ed degree in Foreign Language Teaching from University of Antioquia in Colombia, South America. I am fluent in Spanish and English and I am a little bit familiar with French. I am a competent professional interested in the continual development of my professional skills and qualifications and willing to share my knowledge, background and expertise with students, faculty and staff.
I can't wait to share my knowledge and cultural background with you and your kids.
