Superintendent Chris Lowder made the following personnel announcements today. These were approved by the Board of Education on April 10, 2017.
Chrissy Rotan, International Baccalaureate coordinator at Concord High School (CHS), has been promoted to assistant principal at the school.
Rotan joined Cabarrus County Schools in 1993 as a math teacher at Concord Middle School. She also worked as a testing coordinator at Concord High School and as a principal intern. She became the IB coordinator at CHS in 2011. She also worked as a part-time math instructor at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College.
She earned a bachelor’s degree from the North Carolina State University and a master’s degree and an administration certification from Wingate University.
Chasity Szabo, MTSS (Multi-Tiered Systems of Support) Coach at Northwest Cabarrus Middle School (NCMS), has been promoted to assistant principal. She replaces Anna Blessington, who was named principal of the school in March.
Szabo joined CCS in 2002 as an 8th grade math teacher at Concord Middle School. She worked at CMS until she joined NCMS as MTSS Coach in 2015. She also is a National Board Certified Teacher.
She earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and is completing coursework at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro to obtain her certificate in school administration.
