Set to Excite, Engage and Entertain
The Special Olympics Cabarrus County Spring Games will be held April 12th and 13th at the Cabarrus Arena & Events Center. More than 750 athletes are expected to compete in a variety of track and field events.
In addition to the high-spirited competition, the Games feature a new partner this year — the U.S Army. Organizers have teamed up with the U.S. Army for a crowd-pleasing performance during the Opening Ceremony on Wednesday. An interactive display will be open to all Olympic Village visitors.
The Army’s premier parachute team will jump from 10,000 feet into the arena in a dazzling display for the Spring Games’ participants, followed by a performance by the Army band. The Olympic Village will hold the Army’s Adventure Trailer, an interactive display for athletes and spectators.
Charlotte Army Recruiting Company maintains lasting relationships in the Cabarrus community and looks forward to supporting the Special Olympics.
“Our initiative is to extend pathways for youth within the community by supporting this event and bringing awareness to the opportunities offered by the U.S Army and Army Reserve,” said Capt. Christina Longo, Commander of Charlotte Army Recruiting Company.
