Security Procedures at RRES

safety New Safety Procedures for 2015-16:  In an effort to continuously seek improvement to student safety, we ask that parents not walk children to class in the mornings.  We appreciate your support with this new policy as it will help to protect valuable instructional time and help us to achieve our top priority, which is to keep our students as safe as possible. If you need to deliver something to the classroom or you have a quick message for the teacher, we will be happy to assist you with this in the front office.  If you need to speak directly with the teacher, please call or email to make an appointment.  Thank you for your support with this.

All visitors who enter the building will need to report to the front office where they will be asked to show ID and check in using our computerized Ident-A-Kid check-in system.  This system records tardies and check outs as well.  Visitors please remember to always use the main entrance to our school and have ID ready.

Congratulations Makenzie: Young Author's State Winner!
We are so proud of Makenzie and her essay-Be Yourself.
Read her paper below:

Be Yourself

Once upon a time there was a girl.  She had green eyes and black hair.  Her name was Ivy.  She was colorblind.  She was so self-conscious that when people talked bad about her she covered her face with her hair.  The only colors that she could see were black and white.  All she wanted was to live her life like anyone else did.  It was hard for her to pick out her clothes for school in the morning, so her mom had to help her.  It was almost her birthday but she did not want anything, except to see the colors that anyone else did.  She knew her parents tried to do everything to help her.  She was playing her favorite game when an ad came up on her computer screen.  It said “magic store downtown.”  Ivy ran to put her clothes on and said to herself, I wonder if they have any glasses that can make you see colors.  She got her money and her bike and rode into town.  When she got there she was fascinated.  When she went inside she went straight to the glasses section.  She saw all types of glasses.  Glasses with cameras, glasses that make you sound like a famous person and just plain old glasses but no glasses that make you see colors.  When she left she was disappointed.   When she got home she realized that she was happy the way she was and did not care what other people thought of her.  She was proud of herself for realizing who she was on the inside.
