  • We're starting early this year!  Final Exam, EOG and EOC tests are on their way and we are once again asking for volunteers to proctor on the following dates:

    June 3rd 30
    To volunteer, contact Tina Duncan at 704-788-4135 x1330 or email tina.duncan@cabarrus.k12.nc.us.  The time commitment would be from 8:15 until 12:30 or until the test is completed.  Proctors must be at least 18 years of age and can include Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles and Neighbors.  We thank you SO MUCH for helping!!!

  • mary Congratulations to Mary Smith, our very own School Counselor here at Northwest Cabarrus Middle School; she has been selected as an NEH Summer Scholar from a national applicant pool to attend one of twenty-two NEH Landmarks of American History and Culture Workshops!! The National Endowment for the Humanities is a federal agency that each year supports summer study opportunities so that teachers can work with experts in humanities disciplines.   • BOGO      We will be having a BOGO (Buy One Get One free!) Book Fair starting May 9th and concluding on May 13th during the school day.  There will also be a special afterschool event on Thursday, May 12th from 6-7.  This is a GREAT time to stock up on your summer reading......see you there!

  • spray The NCMS 7th and 8th Grade Drama Classes will be presenting “Hairspray Jr.” on Thursday and Friday, May 12th & 13th at 7:00 p.m.in the NCHS Lecture Hall!

  • Got Spirit?  Try out for Cheerleading!

    Cheerleading tryouts for the 2016-2017 school year will take place Monday, May 16th through Thursday, May19th from 4:15pm – 6:00pm.  Tryouts will conclude with a final audition before judges on May 19th. Before trying out, potential cheerleaders must complete the athletic packet which can be found on our school website or picked up in the office.  The mandatory parent meeting will be held at the end of practice on Monday, May 16th at 6:00 in the school cafeteria.  All potential cheerleaders must have a parent or guardian present or they will not be allowed to try out.  Any questions?   • Congratulations to the members of the NCMS Winterguard for winning 1st place in the Cadet class and receiving the CWEA Cadet Class Banner, 1st place trophy and Gold medals at the CWEA championships March 26, 2016. These ladies once again finished their season undefeated! The Northwest Cabarrus Winterguard has not lost a competition since 2012; a remarkable accomplishment for these students and speaks highly of their dedication and determination!! Way to go Northwest Cabarrus WInterguard!!

  • Tball here will be a Basketball Training Camp from June 13-17,  at NCHS; 8:30am to 12:00pm.  The camp is open to all boys and girls ages 7 to 13 and the cost of the camp is $75.00; if you register before April 1, it will be $85.  For further information contact eric.jackson@cabarrus.k12.nc.us and for the camp flyer click HERE.

  • This year’s Young Art Month exhibit will be held in Downtown Concord at the Cabarrus Art Guild exhibit space, located at 11 Union Street (beside the Cabarrus Creamery).  The Superintendent’s Choice and the Cabarrus Library Excellent Art Awards Ceremony will be held at the Davis Theater, located at 65 Union Street ( in the Old Courthouse) in Downtown Concord on Friday April 8th at 5:30 pm. This ceremony will coincide with the Downtown Concord Art Walk, and will be featured as part of this community event. The YAM exhibit will be on display from March 1st to April 22nd.  Two of the pieces that will be on display are by NCMS students:
