Deputy Jacob Barrier was awarded Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office SRO of the year on Sunday December 4th at the Sheriff’s Office annual Christmas Gathering. Jacob is assigned to Mt. Pleasant Elementary. He was voted for by his peers and recognized for his outstanding abilities as an SRO. Jacob has a great relationship with his student body, parents and staff. He is a great example of what a School Resource Officer should be. Sheriff Brad Riley presented Deputy Barrier with a plaque honoring his award.
Congratulations to Crystal Hall, Teacher Assistant at Mount Pleasant Elementary School, who has been named the Cabarrus County Schools Teacher Assistant of the Year! Superintendent Chris Lowder and Assistant Superintendent Glenda Jones announced Hall’s selection on December 5th at the school. Hall earned a bachelor’s degree from Appalachian State University and an associate’s degree from Gaston College. Hall has served as both a teacher assistant and substitute in Cabarrus County Schools since 2010. This is Hall’s fourth year as Teacher Assistant at Mount Pleasant Elementary School. In her current position, Hall implements student interventions successfully, assists with the MPES News Crew and according to a fellow staff member, “goes above and beyond to help students and teachers accomplish their goals.”
