Vickie Honeycutt Field Day Run

Please join our R. Brown Team in the second annual Field Day 5k and Kid's Fun Run to raise money for the Vickie S. Honeycutt Foundation!

The Foundation was founded in honor of a lady that spent her entire life helping others. Our goal is to help teachers in their fight to beat cancer.
Vickie S. Honeycutt taught English at Mt. Pleasant High School in Cabarrus County, NC, for 32 years.  For eight years following an award-winning tenure in the classroom, Vickie was the assistant director of human resources for the Cabarrus County Schools with responsibility for the recruitment and retention of classroom teachers.

Teacher of the Year

Congratulations to Jenny Cruse for being selected as our Teacher of the Year!  We are all so proud of you.

Spotlight on Community Partners

We are very excited to have Academic Learning Center (again)or (for the first time) this year as a partner with us in meeting the needs of our students. ALC is an after school tutoring program that pays our teachers to stay after school and work with students in reading and in math.
Students are chosen by the teachers and principals based on test scores and classroom assessments.

Academic Learning Center would like to thank the following local organizations that financially support the work that we do together.

Cabarrus Community Foundation

The Cannon Foundation
