  • Spelling Bee
     Irvin's Annual Spelling Bee 
     On Tuesday, December 9, 20 fourth and fifth graders participated in our annual spelling bee.  After nine rounds, a winner was  prevailed.  Congratulations to Jack and runner-up Kymora.  Jack will represent Irvin at the county-wide spelling be  on January 7. Congratulations to all students and thanks to all of the parents who helped study!

  • Jimmie Johnson Grant Irvin Receives Grant from the Jimmie Johnson Foundation
    The Jimmie Johnson Foundation along with Lowe’s Toolbox for Education has awarded our school a grant for $40,316 to build a track in the back of our school.  Our new track will include workout stations and will be built this spring. Thanks Jimmie Johnson Foundation!

  • Little Free Library Little Free Library
    Thanks to Mrs. Anderson, 3rd grade teacher, and her husband, our school is celebrating its third year of having a Little Free Library.  Students are encouraged to take a book, read it and return it.  Click here to watch this student created video to see how our Little Free Library Works.

  • Young Authors Young Author School Winners Announced
    Congratulations to the following students at Irvin who are recognized as a school winner for the Greater Cabarrus Reading Association's Young Author Contest:  Alicea R., Olivia J., Olivia G., Jack P., and Justin B. We also had one Forever Young winner, our own Asst. Principal, Mr. Hamilton. Click here to listen to winners read their winning entries.

  • Toni Yow Toni Yow, WM Irvin Teacher Assistant of the Year
    Congratulations to Mrs. Yow on being selected as our Teacher Assistant of the Year.  Mrs. Yow has been working with students at Irvin for 9 years and before becoming a teacher assistant she was a substitute at our school and a bus driver. She has been married for 26 years and has 4 beautiful children.  Her two youngest are students at Concord High School.  Congratulations, Mrs. Yow!  We are so proud of you.
