  • Jimmie Johnson Grant Irvin Receives Grant from the Jimmie Johnson Foundation
    The Jimmie Johnson Foundation along with Lowe’s Toolbox for Education has awarded our school a grant for $40,316 to build a track in the back of our school.  Our new track will include workout stations and will be built this spring. Thanks Jimmie Johnson Foundation!

  • Turkey Stuff the Turkey Food Drive 
    We will be collecting canned goods and other non-perishable food items throughout November!  All of the food collected will be donated to Cooperative Christian Ministries in Concord.  Please help us reach our school-wide goal of 1500 items!  Let's stuff our turkey FULL!! (As of Wednesday, 11/19, we have just over 900 items.  Keep them coming in!!)

  • Little Free Library Little Free Library
    Thanks to Mrs. Anderson, 3rd grade teacher, and her husband, our school is celebrating its third year of having a Little Free Library.  Students are encouraged to take a book, read it and return it.  Click here to watch this student created video to see how our Little Free Library Works.

  • Tree Lighting 4th Graders to Perform at Concord's Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony
    Everyone is invited to come listen to 50 of our 4th graders as they sing holiday songs for the crowd at Concord's Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony. Students will be performing on Friday, November 21 from 6:40 pm to 7 pm under the direction of our music teacher, Latta Knapp.

  • Young Authors Young Author School Winners Announced
    Congratulations to the following students at Irvin who are recognized as a school winner for the Greater Cabarrus Reading Association's Young Author Contest:  Alicea R., Olivia J., Olivia G., Jack P., and Justin B. We also had one Forever Young winner, our own Asst. Principal, Mr. Hamilton. Click here to listen to winners read their winning entries.

  • Survey Language Immersion Survey
    Cabarrus County Schools is researching the possibility of adding Chinese and Spanish Language Immersion programs We are interested to know if other families in our community would be interested in language immersion as an option for their students.   • Toni Yow Toni Yow, WM Irvin Teacher Assistant of the Year
    Congratulations to Mrs. Yow on being selected as our Teacher Assistant of the Year.  Mrs. Yow has been working with students at Irvin for 9 years and before becoming a teacher assistant she was a substitute at our school and a bus driver. She has been married for 26 years and has 4 beautiful children.  Her two youngest are students at Concord High School.  Congratulations, Mrs. Yow!  We are so proud of you.

  • Tailgate Irvin's Tailgate was a HUGE Success!
    Irvin's Tailgate event was a huge success. Over 300 families came out wearing their favorite sports team attire and learned about what students are learning!  Thanks for coming out!!  Click here for pictures.

  • Hometown Hero WM Irvin Teacher Can Win $250 for Classroom Supplies

  • Box Top Racing for Recess
    PTO has kicked off their boxtops fundraiser.  Each boxtop submitted brings our school 10 cents.  Last year PTO raised about $3500 through boxtops.  The classroom with the highest number of boxtops each month on each grade level will earn an extra recess covered by PTO. The overall winner for the month will win the coveted Golden Eagle award.
