National School Social Work Week March 1 - 7
In honor of our School Social Worker, Nina Wilkerson, we would to support the CCS school social workers who are sponsoring the 'Chain of Kindness and Compassion'  Toiletry Drive to  help replenish items in the Jr. Charity League's Clothing Room.  Each year, many children throughout Cabarrus County, including Irvin ES, visit the Clothing Room to receive much needed clothing and toiletry items. As a way to say 'thank you' for this great service, we are asking Irvin staff and families to join the 'Chain of Kindness and Compassion' and donate the following items:
    Bar Soap
    Zip-Loc gallon size bags
Gloves for elementary, middle or high school age students will also be accepted.

Donations may be dropped off in the school office March 2nd - March 6th during school hours. Thank you! To learn more about School Social Work Services in CCS, click here.

Congratulations to Ms. Knapp, our music teacher, on being selected as our 2014-2015 Teacher of the Year. Ms. Knapp has been at Irvin for 8 years sharing her love of music with all.  Her co-workers describe her as always being positive with a beautiful smile on her face. Her students brag that she teaches through song. "Ms. Knapp taught me about rainforests in a song we are singing. I didn't know singing could help me learn that!"  Congratulations Ms. Knapp.  We are so proud of you!!
