  • Student Accepted in Wake Forest University Summer Immersion Program

Congratulations to freshman Kamone Hyman on his acceptance into Wake Forest University’s Summer Immersion Program!

Kamone was selected from a competitive pool of highly talented applicants. Based on his academic achievements, talents, and experiences, the selection committee awarded him a full scholarship totaling $1,600 for the week-long institute.

Kamone will spend a week this summer at the Wake Forest University's campus in Uptown Charlotte gaining insight into the field of medicine. He will have the opportunity to interact with practicing physicians, as well as attend seminars on topics such as surgery, bioethics, and medical research.

Kamone’s career goals include joining the Army where he hopes to practice as either a pediatrician or general practitioner. Kamone feels that, “This experience will give me a hands-on experience early on so that, when I attend I medical school, I won’t be blindsided like other students. I will have already obtained the experience necessary to be successful in my medical training and chosen career.”

  • A Message from our PTSO President

I would like to invite you all to our next PTSO meeting, it will be held on Wednesday March 25th at 6pm in Ms. Parker's room.  Our Blingo event was a success and interview night dinners went flawlessly!!  I would like to continue this positive momentum as we gear up for Senior banquet and teacher appreciation week.

Senior Banquet is a Junior parent event with PTSO support.  I need fellow Junior parents to help with planning, coordinating and funding.

Teacher appreciation week will be planned outside typical PTSO meetings as I like it to be a surprise for all teachers. That meeting will be April 14th at 6pm in Ms Parker's room, but she will not be there :)

If you have any questions, or would like to help but cannot attend the meeting feel free to email me at dmagee.echsptso@gmail.com.

    Thanks!
    Donna Magee
    ECHS PTSO President
