    We are pleased to announce Carla Black has been named our new principal. She will officially begin February 29, 2016. Mrs. Black joins us from Concord High School, where she has been principal for 10 years. Welcome Mrs. Black!

  • NCNS Recognized as a School of Innovation and Excellence

    Cabarrus Kannapolis Early College continues to make great strides in preparing each and every one of our students to graduate ready for college, careers and life. Today our efforts have been recognized by NC New Schools/Breakthrough Learning. Cabarrus Kannapolis Early College has been named a School of Innovation and Excellence. Our school now has the option to serve as a host for learning tours and study visits to share our success stories with other schools and administrators. We appreciate the leadership and commitment of our staff and the hard work of our students in helping us achieve this milestone.

  • Snow Make-Up Day

    Early College students will use Friday, March 18th as the make-up day for Friday, January 22nd.  We will not make-up the day for Monday, January 25th.

    Student Painters Day


    Former ECHS student Luke Gibson will be starting his own company as part of an internship through Young Entrepreneurs Across America.  Recently he met with Mayor Scott Padgett to discuss the opportunity.

  • 2016-2017 Early College Program Application


    Applications for the 2016-2017 School year are now CLOSED.


    Interview & Selection Process:

    Students that submitted an application will be interviewed as part of the application process. All applicants will be notified at the end of February about the date and time of their interview. Interviews will take place in between February 22, 2016 and March 18 at the Cabarrus Kannapolis Early College campus. 


    Student selection will not take place until all interviews are complete and students will receive notification of their selection outcome by mail by March 31, 2016.


    While Cabarrus County Schools will try to honor a student’s first preference in choice of Early College, the district does reserve the right to make the final school assignment.

  • ECHS Receives $1200 Grant!!!




    Congratulations to Mrs. Bryan who wrote and was awarded the Bright Ideas Grant. The money will go towards buying 12 Shero Robots to be used for the Technology Club.

    The Early College did a wonderful job during the 2015 Carolinas Student Hunger Drive.  This year we beat our goal:

    Total Pounds Raised: 10,438
    Meals Equivalent:       6.959

    Thank you for all of your hard work to make our community a better place!
