Wellness, Art, and Book Fair
Over 400 visitors attended our PTO's Health, Art, and Book Fair held on Tuesday, March 18. As part of the Wellness Fair, students completed "sticker charts" for each vendor they visited. The class with the most stickers for visiting vendors was Mrs. Searl's kindergarten class who visited over 220 vendors in total! Thanks to all who helped to make the evening a success!

Staff Volleyball Team 2014--BHES vs. RBMES
Beverly Hills squared off against McAllister at Concord High School's gym on March 4 as part of a joint fundraiser. Even though we did not win, we played hard and had a great time! Pictured below are our team with Buster the Bulldog, the team getting play information from Coach Davis, and Mr. Fisher leading chorus students.

PBIS Exemplar Status Recognition
Beverly Hills received positive accolades at the annual PBIS Recognition Celebration in Raleigh on February 26. We are one of 100 schools in North Carolina to have exemplar status for implementation of PBIS! Pictured below are Ms. Scardina, Ms. Davis, and Ms. Barber with the banner that will be displayed in our school.

Rufus Visits BHES
The Charlotte Bobcats mascot, Rufus, appeared at our assembly on Friday, February 7, and presented his "Magic of Reading" show. He entertained us with music, dancing, and magic. His message for our students, "Read Every Day," emphasized the importance of reading to success and to reaching goals.

 Academic Learning Center
We are very excited to have Academic Learning Center again this year as a partner with us in meeting the needs of our students.  ALC is an after school tutoring program that pays our teachers to stay after school and work with students in reading and in math.  Students are chosen by the teachers and principals based on test scores and classroom assessments.
